He did not regain consciousness and died Sunday morning at 10 o’clock at the Baptist church at Bradleytown. Interment in the Plum Valley cemetery. The deceased was loved by all who knew him. He leaves to mourn his great loss a wife, a father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. James Hindeman, two brothers, George Hindeman of near Guy’s Mills and William Hindeman of Union City, and two sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Brown* of Titusville and Mrs. Hattie Billig of Diamond.

*Lizzie (Hineman) Brown……..widow of Edward Hunt. Even with a new married name, I still cannot find her on any additional census records.

The closest Brown’s I have found are living next door to Joseph W. Hineman, Lizzie’s uncle. On the 1910 census, here is a Henry Brown and a Willis Brown, one married to an Effie A., and the other an Ellen A., but both couples have been married more than a few years.

I ran across an obituary for a Mrs. Nathan Carey, while searching for info on the Nathan Carey that is related to my Harriet Carey Hineman.

This Nathan Carey DOES NOT appear to be related, at least not closely, as far as I can tell, but I am posting the information just in case I can find some connection in the future.

If you happen to be related, or know something about this family, please leave me a comment. My Carey ancestors were from Bond’s Bridge, Dutchess Co., NY, then Pennsylvania, then Wisconsin. This Nathan Carey appears to have come from Oswego Co., NY, before going to Wisconsin.

MRS. NATHAN CAREY IS DEAD IN OREGON CITY
Special to Post-Crescent

New London — Word was received in this city on Friday of the death of Mrs. Nathan Carey, 82, a former resident of this city, which occured Thursday at Portland, Oregon. Mrs. Carey had been in failing health for the past few years.

Caroline Pace was born at Cornig, N.Y., March 21, 1847. She came with her parents to this community in 1848. The Pace family settled in Mukwa where Caroline resided until her marriage to Nathan Carey of this city in 1867. The couple resided in this city until Mr. Carey’s death about 15 years ago. Mrs. Carey continued to make her home here until five years ago when she left for Portland to spend her remaining years at the home of her son, Charles Carey and family. Survivors are her son and one brother, Michael Pace of this city. The body will be brought to this city for burial at Floral Hill cemetery. Funeral arrangements have not been made.
