<blockquote><p><strong>JACOB KESSLAR</strong>. Punxsutawney.<br />
Jan. 19&#8211;Jacob Kesslar, an old and respected resident of this city, died in his home, 414 Graffius avenue, at 1:00 a.m. Sunday, at the age of 80 years, after an illness of several months duration.</p>
<p>The deceased was born May 10, 1857, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Crist <strong>Kesslar</strong>, pioneer residents of Young township, this county. He was united in marriage in 1886 to Miss Jennie <strong>Trusell.</strong> He attended the Reformed Church in this city. For years he was a trusted employe of the R and P Coal and Iron Company, advanced age compelling his retirement a number of years ago. He was widely known and highly respected in this city and his death is sincerely mourned.</p>
<p>Surviving are his widow and the following sons and daughters: <strong>Mrs. Jennie Hineman</strong>, Mrs. Frank Blair, of Pittsburgh; Mrs. H.R. Peoples, Mrs. J.F. Kelly, of this city; George of Indiana; Fred of DuBois. Two sisters and two brothers also survive: Mrs. <strong>Clayton</strong>, of DuBois; Mrs. <strong>Sheesley</strong> of California; Abe, of this city, and Harry of Winslow.<br />
Funeral services were conducted in his late residence at 2 p.m. today, the Rev. M.N. George officiating. Interment followed in Greenwood Cemetery.</p></blockquote>

<blockquote><p><strong>MRS. JANE TRUSELL KESSLER</strong><br />
91, a life-long resident of Punxsutawney, died in her home on Graffins Ave., at 11 o&#8217;clock Wednesday night. She had been seriously ill since last March.</p>
<p>The deceased was born in Jefferson County, Sept. 18, 1858, a daughter of William B. and Susan Redding Trusell. April 13, 1885, she was united in marriage with Jacob Kessler, who died in 1936. She was a member of St. Peters Evangelical and Reformed Church.</p>
<p>Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Herbert <strong>Peoples</strong> and Mrs. J.F. <strong>Kelly</strong>, both of Punxsutawney, two sons, George, of Chambersville and Harry, of Detroit; two step-daughters, Mrs. Jennie <strong>Hineman</strong> and Mrs. Nellie<strong> [Blimn]?</strong>, both of Pittsburgh; one brothers, Elmer E. Trusell, of Pittsburgh and two sisters, Mrs. Anna <strong>Luhring</strong> of New Bethlehem, and Mrs. Minnie<strong> Lattimer</strong>, Punxsutawney.  Seven grand children and 12 great-grandchildren also survive.</p>
<p>Friends are being received in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Herbert Peoples, 231 Elk Run Ave. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o&#8217;clock with the Rev. Charles O. Leibig officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.</p></blockquote>

<blockquote><p><strong>GEORGE MARTIN KESSLER,</strong><br />
husband of the late Esther Keller Kessler, of Indiana, R.D.2 passed away this morning, Monday, April 15, 1963 at the Indiana Memorial Hospital where he had just been admitted.</p>
<p>Born January 9, 1888 in Punxsutawney, Pa. he was a son of the late Jacob and Jane <strong>Trusal </strong>Kessler. His early life was spent in the Punxsutawney area and prior to coming to his residence 25 years ago he had resided for 11 years in Armstrong Township. He was a retired coal miner and farmer.</p>
<p>Surviving him are: three son, Merle, Indiana, R.D.1; Carl, Shelocta, R.D.1; Paul, Indiana, R.D.2; one sister, Mrs. Minnie <strong>Kelly</strong>, Punxsutawney, Pa., also surviving are nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.</p>
<p>A brother, Fred; a sister, Mrs. Lulu <strong>Peoples</strong> and a grandson, Donald Carl Kessler, are deceased.</p>
<p>Friends will be received after 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and until the hour of service Wednesday at Robinson-Lytle&#8217;s, Indiana where services will be conducted Wednesday, April 17, at 3 p.m. Rev. W.E. Shaffer will officiate and interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana, Pa.</p></blockquote>

<p>First, the one I know is related; she was married to a <strong>HINEMAN</strong>:</p>
<blockquote><p><strong>Mrs. Sarah Grube</strong></p>
<p>Mrs. Sarah Grube, wife of J.H. Grube, died at her home in Albian Friday morning at 10 o&#8217;clock after a protracted illness, at the age of 70 years. She has been bedfast for many weeks and her death was not unexpected. The deceased was a native of Big Run, the daughter of  Mr. and Mrs. J. Kauffman. She was twice married, her first husband, <strong>Jacob Hineman</strong>, having died several years ago.</p>
<p>She was a member of the United Brethren church of Albian and was held in the greatest esteem there. She leaves her husband and the following sons and daughters by her first marriage: <strong>Joseph ? Hineman, of Mahaffey; John H. Hineman, of Pittsburgh; Mrs. Joseph Gray, of Punxsutawney, Mrs. Clarence Stiver, of Rossiter; Earl Hineman, of Pittsburgh. </strong>She also leaves two brothers, five sisters and 13 grandchildren. Funderal services were held Monday at the late home of the deceased in Albion with Rev. Haire officiating. Burial was made in the Fairview cemetery, Big Run.</p></blockquote>

<p>Mr. M.O. Brandon and Miss Nettie Kauffman were married at the home of the bride&#8217;s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Kauffman, of White township, at 11:30 this morning. The ceremony was performed by Rev. W.J. Wilson of this place and was witnessed by 75 guests. Mr. and Mrs. W.S. Brandon, of West Philadelphia street, will entertain on Thursday in honor of their son and his bride. The newly married couple will reside on West Philadelphia street.</p></blockquote>

<blockquote><p>Mrs. Michael Kauffman of White township, died at her home on Monday morning from Paralysis. She suffered from an attack on Friday and remained unconscious until the end. The deceased, who was aged 67 years, was a daughter of the late Aaron <strong>Smith,</strong> of Shelocta. She is survived by her husband and the following children: William Kauffman, Mrs. Myrtle <strong>Cribbs</strong> and Mrs. Nettie <strong>Brandon</strong> of town; Edward Kauffman and Mrs. Harry M. <strong>Beatty</strong>, of Wilkinsburg; Adda, Lorri, James and John Kauffman, residing at home. She is also survived by these four brothers: A.J. Smith, of town; J.S. Smith of Brookville; J.C.Smith, of Blairsville, and H.M. Smith, of Harmony. The funeral services will be conducted at her late home this forenoon at 10:30 o&#8217;clock by Rev. W.J. Wilson, of town.</p></blockquote>

<blockquote><p>His Team Scared and He Was Thrown from His Wagon, Sustaining Scalp Wounds.Samuel Kauffman, the White township fruit gardener, sustained an ugly accident this afternoon.As he was driving along School street near the residence of Justice Elkin, his team scared at an incoming train and ran away. Mr. Kauffman was thrown out of the wagon and was badly cut about the head. He went to the office of Dr. Simpson where several stitches were put in his scalp to close the wound.The runaway horses were caughter near Ellis&#8217; mill.</p></blockquote>
