Hineman and Howell: Crawford Co., PA

Daniel Howell was married to Susannah N. Hineman, daughter of John Hineman and Mary Magdalene McConnell. Evidently, they had a daughter by the name of Ida, but I haven’t been able to find out what happened to her.

[Thomas Shontz appears to have been married first to an Amanda, then a Jennie] Also, Minerva Seltzer‘s father was I.G. Seltzer. She was married to William Marshall Hineman, a son of James K. Hineman. I don’t known if I.G. and I.Z. are related or not, but I think there is a good possibility that they could be.

Agnes Hineman and Jeremiah McClelland‘s daughter, Sylvia married Marshall A. Stull, at least that is who it APPEARS  to have been. This looks like his 2nd or 3rd marriage.  According to census records, he was born about 1873, so he was younger than Sylvia, although the 1910 census seems to have her age fudged a bit, as it is listed as 1872 and prior census records show abt. 1866.  1910 census (Palmetto, Manatee, Florida) states they had been married 2 years, had one child, no longer living.  Marshall‘s brother, Morgan, age 20, was living with them in Florida. There seems to be ANOTHER Morgan A. Stull, same age, living in Plum township, Venango Co., PA,  father also born NJ, but with a wife by the name of Maud E, whose father was born in Ireland.

Mr. and Mrs. M.A. Stull of Tampa, Fla., are guests of the latter’s father and sisters, Jeremiah McClelland and the Misses Anna and Elizabeth McClelland and Mrs. Clyde Arters.

UPDAATE: THIS IS NOT THE CORRECT SYLVIA! Based on new information, it appears Sylvia married M.A. Stull, whose first name appears to be Marshall. They were living in Florida.

Now for some serious speculating.

Sylvia McClelland, daughter of Jeremiah and Agnes (Hineman) McClelland is living at home until at least 1900, and was in her 30’s at that time. Since the 1910 census states that 4 of Agnes‘ children are still living,  Sylvia must have finally married someone.

This is took quite a bit of searching, but I think it’s a real possibility this is her. Erie County, PA is not far from Venango County, PA. See what you think:
